Streamer Dredge 30 Breakdown

The Streamer Dredge 30 was designed as our fastest sinking streamer line in lakes or big rivers.

This unique sinking fly line features an aggressive 30 ft head design that loads quickly and shoots large fly’s with minimal false casts. The 30 ft. type 8 (8 IPS) sinking head utilizes our Tungsten Tip Technology to keep your fly at a consistent depth during your retrieve. The intermediate running line removes any hinges in your line.

We built this fly line oversized to properly load fast, modern action rods. A 30 ft. sink tip integrated into the head of this fly line allows for complete versatility when banging banks, working heavy currents, and fishing bigger water. Our signature Shooting Technology decreases friction within the guides for a slick shooting feel throughout its entire life span.

Effectively cover the deepest rivers and lakes with the Streamer Dredge 30 Fly Line.

FAQ

Our Streamer Dredge 30 fly line is built for cold water environments and will perform best in temperatures between 30 and 70 degrees (F).

We designed this line to get down as fast as possible. Keep your fly down in riffles and heavy current, fish your streamer low & slow during the winter, or instantly get your fly down when casting off a boat.

The black and olive color combination distinguishes the transition between sinking and floating portions of the line, and provides depth reference on your retrieve. These colors are stealthy yet traceable in freshwater environments.

Cleaning your fly line is very important especially when fishing saltwater. Simply pull line off your reel into a clean bucket or tub of freshwater. Put roughly 1oz or more of Cortland’s Line Cleaner solution onto a clean rag or towel. Firmly squeeze the towel with Pro Line Cleaner around the line and slowly pull line through the towel. You should be able to see dirt or discolored streaks on the towel when finished.

Go deep quick

This line did wonders on the Rio Limay in Patagonia, Argentina. You need to get down quick if want to challenge the big silver browns and this line does not disappoint. Only issue I had was the line memory needed addressing all too often.

Streamer fanatic must have!

Ran this line (8wt) during my recent White River, AR trip. Such a great product, sink rate is perfect for the high flows and can throw a large (8+”) streamer well. The running line is a bit stiffer than other brands similar style lines, reducing twists in the line. Nice job Cortland!

Perfect Pyramid line!

Bought the 8/9 and used it on my Pyramid setup this weekend. Orvis Helios 3D 8 weight. Worked perfectly and was able to throw a lot further. Sink rate gets it on the bottom fast which is perfect for Pyramid stripping.

Streamer Dredge 30 Fly Line for Depth-Oriented Anglers

December 15th, 2025

When your target fish are holding deep and reluctant to chase, Cortland’s Streamer Dredge 30 gives you the edge to get in front of them—fast. Designed for anglers who thrive in high flows, cold rivers, and lake drop-offs, this aggressive sinking tip line gets your fly down quickly and keeps it in the strike zone longer. The Dredge 30 features a 30-foot fast-sinking head (Type 6 or Type 8), seamlessly integrated into a slick intermediate running line for maximum shootability and balance.

The Dredge 30 is especially effective when fishing from drift boats or when dealing with fast-moving currents that push lighter lines out of the strike zone too quickly. With minimal false casting, this line enables aggressive presentations with large, weighted flies, while reducing the amount of time your fly spends out of the water. For anglers targeting brown trout in big water, striped bass in tidal rivers, or bass in sunken weed beds, the Dredge 30 helps you deliver the fly where fish are actually holding—not where it’s convenient to cast.

Aggressive Taper with Controlled Sinking Power

When your target fish are holding deep and reluctant to chase, Cortland’s Streamer Dredge 30 gives you the edge to get in front of them—fast. Designed for anglers who thrive in high flows, cold rivers, and lake drop-offs, this aggressive sinking tip line gets your fly down quickly and keeps it in the strike zone longer. The Dredge 30 features a 30-foot fast-sinking head (Type 6 or Type 8), seamlessly integrated into a slick intermediate running line for maximum shootability and balance.

Unlike traditional lines that rise too quickly or struggle to hold depth, the Dredge 30 allows for slow, controlled retrieves that mimic injured baitfish—perfect for enticing predatory strikes in deep channels or around submerged structures. It’s a go-to for serious streamer anglers working steep riverbanks, drift boat seams, or big water scenarios where reaching the bottom is the only way to trigger eats. Whether you’re chasing meat-eating browns, aggressive smallmouth, or lake-run steelhead, this line brings your fly into their world—and keeps it there.

Durable Performance for Freshwater and Beyond

Constructed on a strong, low-stretch braided core, the Streamer Dredge 30 delivers excellent energy transfer while maintaining a supple feel in cold or moderate temperatures. Its durable outer coating resists cracking and abrasion, making it reliable for multi-day trips, bank wades, or repetitive boat use. This line is as comfortable in stillwater as it is in fast western freestones, and has been field-tested in harsh conditions where traditional sinking lines fall short.

Cortland’s color-coded design also helps you stay oriented, allowing for better timing during backcasts and easier tracking when the line is submerged. If you're a streamer angler looking to strip big flies all day without sacrificing line integrity or casting performance, the Dredge 30 delivers the power, depth control, and durability needed for the job. Built for anglers who go big or go home, this line doesn’t just dredge—it dominates. No matter the current, cover, or contour, the Dredge 30 ensures your fly stays in the game longer.
