Use it on my fly reels, but more so on Cast Nets
For over 50 years I have made old school hand tied cast nets. I started out as a kid making cotton nets. Then nylon came along and I began using bonded nylon. An old school cast net builder I know began making Dacron Nets. Thought I would make a few and ordered various colors in 1000 yard spools. Works great, ties great and hopefully will hold up well, especially around oyster shells. Still experimenting with Cast Nets as a viable application for the Dacron Backing. It’s diameter and knotting ability are pluses. Since the cast nets can be made to catch Mullet and other species of fish, as well as bait mostly in Salt Water, durability under net fishing conditions is still unknown.
