Clear Intermediate Breakdown

The Classic Series Clear Intermediate was designed for stealthy subsurface tactics in both fresh and saltwater fisheries. The full intermediate profile sinks at 1.5-2 inches per second for a versatile presentation. Cleaning your fly line is very important especially when fishing saltwater. Simply pull line off your reel into a clean bucket or tub of freshwater. Put roughly 1oz or more of Cortland’s Line Cleaner solution onto a clean rag or towel. Firmly squeeze the towel with Pro Line Cleaner around the line and slowly pull line through the towel. You should be able to see dirt or discolored streaks on the towel when finished.

8 weight clear intermediate

I have been using this line in various weights from 4to 10 for years. Sinks well, durable and works fine in cold water. I appreciate GREATLY that the line grain weight is true to what used to be the standard system for all lines (ex. 8 weight is 210 grains, etc). This makes it much easier to pick the right line for your rod/casting style the FIRST time.

I especially like the very long back taper, making long casts possible.

Small diameter goes right through the wind and waves.

So happy cortland continues to make this line….i have never found one better (and i’ve tried many over the years) to match my casting style.

Also, price is excellent and appreciate that Cortland is keeping it that way.

Huge fan. Thank you Cortland.
