Nylon Tippet

Been fishing this tippet for 4 years now. Best tippet I have ever fished. From ripping flies outta trees and grassy banks, it holds up, even if it has contingencies. It does seem to be a bit on the stiffer side, but that not a prob because it’s so strong. I would and have recommended to friends! Thanks Cortland!

.009 is 12.9lb? AWESOME! My go-to for steelhead;tough,takes the rocky stream bottoms abuse,good knot strength,decent stretch to help prevent breakoffs and thin for the lb test,12lb is usually .012...30% thinner @.009 and same lb test!

I was shocked at how I could use a 5X tippet on a clear stream without spooking the rising fish! Was great to be able to get the fish in a bit more quickly and release them back to the stream. Lasted catch after catch as well, even when I could feel the micro abrasion from the takes. Thanks Cortland!! Bravo!

Excellent tippet for fishing dry flies all day - supple with great knot strength and just enough elasticity. Test may be a bit higher than stated as it held up to three days on the Pine River (NH) with occasional snags on every in water and stream-side obstacles imaginable (e.g., downed trees, overhanging shrubs, etc.).

Have completely converted to this tippet for 4x and finer. Knots well and remains strong. Great for large trout on small dries.

I wanted the consistency of tippet rather than using mono and cortland offered that at a reasonable price. The spool locks to others for ease of management and the color coordination of the spool and band makes for easy identification.

I was for several years mono and fluorocarbon fishing line for tippet. I wasnt happy with the way my flies were turning over plus i was getting a lot of break offs. I sent an inquiry to Courtland about the differences between tippet and fishing line. Thru their comments I switched to tippet and now have better fly turnover and fewer breakoffs.

Works great. I have fished Cortland line, tippett, leaders, reels and fly rods for years and would not change.

This product worked really really well for dry flys! Fished a Rocky Mountain stream with fairly fast, shallow water. The tippet helped keep the fly afloat, and held up to the abuse of the rocks very well. Once again I had issues with the elastic retaining band fraying.

I've always flip-flopped between Nylon Tippet(dry fly presentations) and 'normal' fluorocarbon tippet(nymph fishing). Like many fly fisherman I have too many tippet spools and not enough time to try them all each time out. That being said, this stuff always rose to the top of the stack! for the price it can't be beat when talking about nylon tippet.

Must have for adjusting or adding to leader lengths!

I have yet to use the new tippet material. I did purchase the Super Supple earlier this year and have been experiencing issues with knot slippage when tying knots and when fishing both clinch and blood knots. I quite like the Super Supple for smaller (18 and smaller) dries, I am disappointed in its' knot performance. Slippage is noted when tying knots, particularly when the tippet is wet leaving me a pig tail when attempting to tighten the knot. I have also lost a number of fish with the knots simply pulling free???
