Fibertech
Protection that bonds to the individual fibers, which stiffens and improves handling of the line. Lines cast farther and last longer without excess stiffness.
HMWPE
High molecular weight gel-spun polyethylene fibers that are stronger than steel. Virtually no stretch for incredible sensitivity. Doesn’t degrade in sunlight / UV light.
Colorlast
Provides the longest lasting color. Doesn’t fade. Doesn’t bleed.
C16 excels in casting due to the silky smooth construction. Use it for topwater fishing Tuna, Surf Casting, or any application where you need a trusted, smooth braid.

The best!
Cortland C16 is by far the best backing for fly fishing. The durability and abrasion resistance make it first choice for saltwater, jungle and volcanic rivers. Another unique quality is that it makes perfect blind splices and internal loops.
Yes it I spendy but so are $1000 rods and $100 flylines!

Favorite Braid Hands Down.
I absolutely love the c16 200 lb hollow core braid. Since transitioning to Cortland about a year ago, I refuse to use anything else. Iv caught countless large fish using it and never once had a line failure. The quality is simply unmatched.
