BILLFISH INTERMEDIATE BREAKDOWN
Getting a Billfish to the boat on a fly is no easy task. Our Billfish Intermediate was designed to deliver large flies into the upper water column of the prop wash quickly.
This line features a 9’ clear intermediate front taper for stealth and presentation, a 27’ extended body that will transfer energy quickly and efficiently for those quick casts when there is a Billfish on the teaser and you need to deliver your fly. A short 7’ back taper helps with quick loading, and fast shooting.
This line is built on a heavy monofilament core with our signature tropic plus coating finished in a very traceable chartreuse color.
SPECIES: Billfish, Sailfish, Marlin
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What Temperature Range will this line perform best in?
Our Tropic Billfish Intermediate Line is built for tropic environments and will perform best in temperatures above 70 degrees (F). Our Tropic PVC coating is designed to remain hard, slick and supple in the hottest conditions.
Why is this taper ideal for Billfish?
The taper design for our Tropic Plus Billfish Intermediate line was built to excel in both short and long range casting. The extended body and short rear taper allows for more energy to be transferred into your cast. The clear front taper turns over a variety of flies while remaining stealthy in the prop wash. This line is built in a 13-15 wt. to load powerful, offshore fly rods.
Why is this line 2 colors?
The clear and chartreuse finish is stealthy yet traceable in the prop wash.
